Hey, here's updates for Day 5!And Ahgwee! Feel super honoured that your photos are all over my blog. Hahaha. You're famous!
Anyway, on Day 5, we left Paparoa Marae and went to visit Kiwi 360 fruit centre and learn about kiwifruit varieties. But cos it wasn't the season, so we didn't see any kiwi fruits.But firstly, they took us onto this tram ride which is kiwi-shaped. And brought us into the kiwifruit orchard. And along the way, Ahgwee took photos. Hahaha. So here they are.
And after some stops along the way, we arrived here, where a guy came and explain to us how the fruits are taken care of and stuff, but most of them time, I guess I wasn't listening, cos if you ask me anything now, I can't tell you.
And after the visit, we had around 30 min to buy things from their Kiwi shop! And so I bought loads of stuff. Spent around $60 there? Mainly bought all the gifts for parents, friends and for myself!And then we left, and I think all these pictures here were scenery along the way. So yah. Just scroll down.
Then next, we went to visit Whakarewarewa geothermal reserve. Woah. Long name. And this place has the largest geysers in NZ, boiling mud pools, hot springs where Maori used for cooking. And there's a famous Maori carving school. And we had 1 hour (?) to explore the place. Pure free and easy. So Siang Kiat was being our camera men! Hahaha.
And after we finished touring the place, we went to the souvenior shop where I made my first souvenior coin! It's damn cool lah. You drop a $2 coin in and almost instantly, it gives you a souvenior coin. Gee.
And and, we went to eat ice cream! Heaven lah! Eating ice cream in such a cold weather is super shiok one lor!
Anyway, we left after that and headed for the most exciting and most fun part of the day! We went to visit Skyline Skyrides on Mt Ngongotaha and we get to play the luge! Yay yay yay!
And we got 2 rides per person! Cool!
So first, we had to take this cable car up to the top of the mountain, and each cable car will have 8 people. And the view from the top is super prettaye!
Ahha! The best part of the dayyy! Lugeee! So we get to go for the Scenic track first and all of us were basically speeding all the way. Since you wun get a summon, so who cares huh? And it was damn shiok lah! And then we needed to take the chairlift up to the top before we can go for the 2nd ride. And I was with lifang all the time.
Being a little crazy, we started danggling our legs in mid air, tried to lift up the safety handle bar thingy, did a little something embarassing.
Since Xiu Wen was scared of this chairlift thingy, we both tried to talk to her while she was behind us. Or rather, we screamed and did nonsensical things. The video is currently still with lifang, but I will tell you what we did.
So we screamed.
“林秀文！ 我爱你！”
“你爱我吗？”
Hahaha. Such a disgrace right! But yah. It was damn fun.
And then the 2nd time, we got to choose if we wanted to go for intermediate or advanced. And being very ambitious people, lifang and me chose to go for the advanced track. And I swear, it was super scary and challenging. Hahahaha.As usual, we were speeding. But since it was advanced, the slopes were so steep, the curves were so scary and there were no curbs at the side. So if you happen to fall off, I think everyone will say bye bye to you! And there was this slope that was like so so so steep that you couldn't see what was below. Heh! Like rollar coaster ride! But it was exciting.
Oh yes. And I crashed once. Thank gawd there was a curb at that time. If not, I wouldn't need to return back to Singapore. And the thing just got stuck there and I desperately had to come out and push it to get it moving once again.
And it was so paiseh lah. Cos people were like asking if I'm okay. Hahaha. And Japna was so funny! She saw me get stuck there and she screamed "Nono! I cant do it! I cant do it!" and stopped behind me. Lolol.
But anyway, this was something that was really fun. But we didn't buy the pictures that the camera took for us on the way during the luge ride and the chairlift ride, cos their cameras are positioned in a super weird place, at the side, and nobody would ever notice it, so all of our photos turn out to be so unglam. And its expensive! So we took our own photos. Haha. FOC!
And this was on our way back down in the 8 people cable car.
And I dunno how these photos ended up here but this was supposedly taken from the hotspring place.
Uh yes and this one, I dunno why its here also. Haha. But this was lifang and me before we set off for the luge ride! :D
And then we went to our hotel. It looked more like a chalet cos it was 2 storeys. And it looks something like ECP chalet or white sands resort. There were 2 beds downstairs and 2 upstairs. And of cos, we decided to change rooms among ourselves again! And something funny and ridiculous happened. But I'm not telling.Dinner was funny. We had fish and chips! And as usual, I sat with lifang, xiu wen, cai ying, liting. And we were laughing non stop throughout the whole dinner cos of something. I laughed for a good whole 1 hour. I dunno how I managed to finish my dinner but everyone was so thrilled and occassionally, we had to run outside to stop ourselves from laughing and choking or even spitting out whatever we were eating.
And being a little retarded, laughing for 1 hour was tiring. And the worst thing was that, someone emo was sitting beside me at that time.
And I just laughed and laughed and laughed.
I didn't manage to finish someone's birthday cake cos it was hard to control the laughing gas that was triggering off at that moment.
After dinner, we had to change cos we needed a full dress rehearsal for the performance during the school exchange trip.
Doing the most easy dance, I just needed to change into the red tee. Ha.
And so we rehearsed for about 30 min.
Before letting us go, we were told that if we wanted to see stars, then we can all gather outside at 10pm.
And so we all went back to bathe. And I bathed first. My roomates for the night was Lifang, Liting and Sirinapa. And they were being super evil cos they played a prank on me by switching off all the lights and not responding to me when I called them to get something for me. And in the end, I had to go out, and ended up having Xiu Wen and Siang Kiat running in from nowhere. Goshh.
Yupp. So after everyone bathed, we went outside and it was frigging cold. Couldn't stop shivering. But yet, so many people were playing daidee outside. Hahaha. And then the random few of us started standing on tables and sang and dance. Until I knocked my head against the roof.
Uh yah. And I forgot to mention about the hot pool! A hot swimming pool. Haha. So some of the boys went down to play. And I guess it was quite fun? But all of them were running around after they came up cos it was so cold. Hahaha.
And someone bought chips! So the 2 photos below were uh yah. Haha.
In the end, we didn't manage to see whatsoever stars, but we got to see Alan's grand daughter! 4 days old. Super cute! Hahaha.
And after lights out, since lifang and liting was sleeping upstairs and I didn't want to be alone sleeping downstairs. I went to bunk in with them. So we pulled the 2 beds together and 3 of us slept together.
But before that, we sang songs till 12am. Hahaha.
And then we died. Till the next morning.
I didn't write anymore reflections after Day 4.
